Lois Mailou Jones, born in Boston, November 3, 1905 – June 9, 1998 created a bright and colourful paintings and was commissioned to create equally as bright prints for cretonne cotton. An influential African American artist who has a permanent exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in recognition for what she achieved in her life time.
